Mumbai ( मुंबई also known as Bombay) is the capital city of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the most populous city in India, and also the financial hub of the country. Along with the urban areas, including the cities of Navi Mumbai, Thane, Bhiwandi, Kalyan, it is one of the most populous urban regions in the world. Mumbai lies on the west coast of India and has a deep natural harbour. In 2009, Mumbai was named an alpha world city. It is also the wealthiest city in India, and has the highest GDP of any city in South, West or Central Asia. Mumbai is famous for mostly two things — Bollywood (The Indian Film Industry) & Ganesh Chaturthi (the biggest Carnival Festival of Lord Ganesha).

This magnificent city has always delivered some of the hugest and breathtaking mega projects to its citizens in the past few years – be it Bandra Worli Sea Link, the Int’l Airport Terminal 2, SCLR or Monorail. This new world-class Mass Rapid Transit System called the Mumbai Metro adds a new flavor to the Magnificent City. So that's  some interesting facts about the seven island city, but much before the arrival of Mumbai's Metro, the city has always being served by it's traditional mode of transport called the Local Trains of Mumbai, also called the "Lifeline of Mumbai".
