Time
for India to Reboot | Youth For People | #TheManchala
We are the Greatest Democracy in the
World, but like every big system we do have few loopholes in it. And we very
well know about these loopholes whether it’s Corruption, Child Abuse, Violence against
Woman, Poverty etc. We often try to push that away from us, ignore it &
move on. In this whole process of pushing it away and moving on we forget our
responsibilities towards our society. We think we have got rid of it, but as
they say, “What you Resist Persists”, it comes racing back to us & we later
fall in the same loophole we once pushed away. So we now realize that pushing
it away is not a permanent solution for it. Instead of that, we should join
hands, plan & execute a solution for it.
As Aamir Khan, a popular bollywood movie star says in the Movie Rang De Basanti, "Koi bhi desh perfect nahin hota... usse behtar banana padta hai. Zindagi jeene ke do hi tarike hote hai... ek jo ho raha hai hone do, bardaasht karte jao... ya phir jimmedari uthao use badalneki" (No country is perfect... one has to make it perfect. To live life there are only two ways... one whatever is happening let it happen, keep tolerating it... or else take the responsibility to change it)
So, instead of complaining about our system or playing a blame game every time
something happens like #DelhiGangRape, i have decided to take responsibility to
change my system, my country & my people by contributing whatever i can
irrespective of how big or small it is. To bring about a change in the
surroundings around you, you first have to change your own self because at the
end of the day everything comes to one point, of what we think and what our
mentality is towards our nation, our society. "Be the Change you wish to
see in the World."
So the question is, “What can we do to
improve our society?” The answer is indeed very simple, begin to act. And with
that I mean, involve yourself in certain groups or NGO’s which work towards upliftment
of our society. Talking about myself, I have joined the "Youth For People", a Mumbai based small group of Young Enthusiastic Social
Entrepreneurs who work towards mobilizing youth energy towards achieving social
upliftment through principles of inclusion, empowerment and transparency. Their
main motto is to take care of the country, the environment, animals and the humanity
at large in every area. To know more about YFP, you can check out their FB
page. Youth For People
Apart from many other successful campaigns what YFP are currently involved in, they are coming up with a new program or a campaign called #TheManchala (an Eve Teaser). It’s a campaign whose main objective is to fight against Sexual Harassment or a Drive to restore privacy of Women in Public Places. Visit #TheManchala FB Page to get detail information about it. You as a responsible citizen of our nation play an important role in it; by Posting on #TheManchala FB Page or by Tweeting on twitter with Hash tag #TheManchala every time you spot one in action, and YFP makes sure the necessary actions are taken ASAP. The program is recently launched and is gaining momentum with every passing day. YFP is also in the process of developing an SOS kind of Mobile App which will act as a guardian for women, consisting of a trigger button which when pressed in case of an emergency will send a message/call along with their location information to their loved ones or police, so that an immediate action can be taken and several lives can be saved.. Please Like our FB Pages, Share your views & feel free to share & create awareness about YFP & #TheManchala. If you are serious enough to contribute towards our society, you can even join me in this mission and i will give you all the information.
At last since it’s the end of the year, I wish you all A Very HAPPY NEW YEAR! And with that i don’t mean Celebration but Revolution, a revolution which will bring about a Change in our society.
So, it’s time INDIA REBOOTS!
