2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil
The
2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil is the 20th FIFA World Cup, an
international men’s football tournament. Arguably the biggest and the most
anticipated sporting event of the year, is about to kick-start and will run
from 12th June to 13th July 2014. It’s going to be the
year’s biggest sporting carnival with Brazil, the land of football hosting the
competition for the second time, the last one was held in 1950.

Great National Teams from different countries battled and advanced through qualification
rounds that began in June 2011 to participate with the host nation Brazil in
the final tournament. A total of 64 breathtaking matches are to be played in 12
exotic cities across Brazil in either new or redeveloped stadiums, with the
tournament beginning with a group stage. It’s for the first time in the history
of football and at World Cup Finals; the matches will use goal-line technology.

The
coverage of the 2014 World Cup starts on Friday, 13th June, 2014 at
1:30 am IST (Thursday, 12th June, 2014 at 17:00 hrs Brazil Standard
Time (BRT)). The opening ceremony will be covered by Sony SIX. Live coverage
starts at (11:30pm IST) 3pm BRT. The inaugural match, Brazil v Croatia, will be
aired at (1:30am IST) 5pm BRT.
